~ A Storytelling & Dialogue Project~
Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland

Staff

The TUH staff has worked hard over the past year to produce atraining resource that might enable others to continue the work of storytelling. The staff includes:

Eamonn Baker, Coordinator

Ruth Chibber, Administrator

Ruth worked as an administration officer in the Northern Ireland Civil Service before completing her degree at the University of Ulster; graduating in 2007 as the “Student of the Year”. During her final year of studies and upon graduation, Ruth spent most of her time in Moshi, Tanzania, managing the “Build a School” project which she set up in 2006. Her experience co-ordinating the fundraising and overseeing groups of volunteers while they helped the local community in Moshi to build a Secondary School, had a lasting effect on Ruth, who maintains her links with the area.

Through her project in Tanzania, Ruth has shown a commitment to development work which stems from her Quaker upbringing. Ruth’s grandparents, Billy and Joan Sinton, helped set up and were the first representatives of the Quaker Peace House in Belfast in 1982 and Ruth is pleased to be part of a project helping Northern Ireland move forward to a truly shared society.

The TUH staff also owes much thanks to Maureen Hetherington of the Junction, and the Towards Understanding and Healing Management Committee. It is with the support of these people that TUH was able to complete the training resource.
